Important News: The Office of Head Start now requires that all Head Start programs report monthly enrollment numbers.

In a memo dated September 18, 2008, the Office of Head Start announced that all Head Start programs will now be required to "report on a monthly basis their actual enrollment and, if their actual enrollment is less than their funded enrollment, the reasons for this shortfall. In order to facilitate this reporting, the Office of Head Start has established a new website; https://hses.ohs.acf.hhs.gov/hsprograms.  End-of-month enrollment data for September should be entered no later than Tuesday, October 7, 2008."

In order to address these new reporting requirements, ChildPlus optimized the way DataEngine calculates enrollment turnover on reports 2005 and 2210.  DataEngine now calculates turnover on these reports by filling all funded slots before replacing terminated participants.  Prior to this change, turnover calculations were based solely on slots created by terminated participants. The new calculation method means that not only will your monthly enrollment numbers be higher, but also that they will now represent a more accurate and true reflection of your actual enrollment.

Growth Charts Now Print on One Page!

All growth charts in ChildPlus DataEngine now automatically print on one page and include the following information for each participant:

Program Term, Enrollment Status, Enrollment Date (if applicable), Site, and Classroom.

General Fixes

The following table lists each of the fixes that ChildPlus incorporated into this release of DataEngine version 1.33:

Enhancement/Fix

Description

Attendance

Users can now use the Previous and Next buttons in Attendance regardless of their security access rights to other tabs in the Attendance module.  In previous versions of ChildPlus DataEngine, users who did not have access to the Follow Up, Notes, or CACFP tabs were not able to use the Previous/Next buttons.

Enrollment Turnover Calculations

In order to address the new end of month reporting requirements, ChildPlus optimized the way ChildPlus DataEngine calculates enrollment turnover for reports 2005 and 2210.  Turnover is now calculated by filling all funded slots before replacing terminated participants. Prior to this change, turnover calculations were based solely on slots created by terminated participants.  By using this new calculation method, not only will your monthly enrollment numbers be higher, but also they will be a more accurate and true reflection of your actual enrollment.

Family Intake

Users with view only security access to Family Intake can now print application forms from ChildPlus DataEngine.

Health

ChildPlus DataEngine will now automatically check the  Met Requirement box when you click on Add Multiple to add more than one health event to a participant's health record.

LiveReport

You can now include immunization override dates on reports that you create using LiveReport.

Reports

2001 - Managers Report - Enrollment

Funded enrollment counts are now calculated if you group this report by region.

3001 - Management Report- Health Services

This report no longer prints a time stamp in the Entry Date field.

5440 - Classroom Profile

If a participant has not been assessed for an item that is included on this report, no results will be printed for that item.  In previous versions of ChildPlus DataEngine, N/O was printing for items that participants had not been assessed for yet.

5450 - Group Profile Comparison

ChildPlus added a warning message to the Setup screen for this report that alerts you if you are attempting to run the report for a classroom with more than 25 participants enrolled in it.  This message is necessary because you can only run this report for up to 25 participants at a time.
